A little About Us......
Rebecca age 3 on one of the twins,
Lead-line.
RCA Equestrian LLC is a family affair owned by Billie and Wilbur Raven for over 40 years. It began with one Half Arabian Mare, Shalom. From that wonderful mare, a family of equally wonderful horses followed: Kaliefah, Baheej, Seleucia, Selecia, the twins (!) ya, twins, and of course their daddy, Ma-ha-ma, a small gray stallion with a Huge Personality. Many more came from those beginnings. Raising Arabian and Half Arabian horses was a dream that flourished and was always a family affair. The whole family was involved: Grandma, Grandpa, Sister, Daughter, and Sons. Showing in the then IAHA, the Raven's Crest Arabians were bound for success. Classes were won in Halter, Western Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, Park Horse, Costume,Walk-trot, and Lead-line.
Our "Arabians In Costume" parade unit has been featured in the Pikes Peak Rodeo Parade and has been awarded the prestigious Golden Nugget Trophy for Best Appearing Mounted Unit (twice!). In the early 1990's we were introduced to Pat Parelli and Parelli Natural Horsemanship. Wow! We've learned so much from them in the years since then that has reaffirmed what we've always believed and taught us more techniques and a "better" way to develop horses that has encouraged the whole family.
Today, it's still a family affair. Rebecca(daughter), now Head Instructor and Horse Developer, is developing horsemen/women and horses alike using Natural Horsemanship. Whether you want to compete, trail ride casually or just enjoy being around horses safely, RCA Equestrian is the place for you!
